Sweet Tea Base
- 4 cups boiling water
- 3 tea bags
- 1 cup sugar
Gelatin & Alcohol
- 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
- 1/2 cup whiskey
Instructions
- Steep the Tea: Boil 4 cups of water and pour it into a heatproof pitcher. Add 3 tea bags and 1 cup sugar to the boiling water. Stir well to dissolve the sugar. Let the tea steep and cool for 20 minutes, then remove the tea bags.
- Prepare Gelatin Mixture: Sprinkle 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin over the warm tea to let it bloom for 15 minutes until fully dissolved. Stir thoroughly to ensure even mixing. Then add 1/2 cup whiskey to the mixture and stir until fully combined.
- Fill and Set: Place mini mason shot glasses on a tray or cookie sheet for stability. Pour the gelatin and tea mixture evenly into each shot glass. Refrigerate the shots for at least 3 hours until firm and set.
- Serve: Garnish each jello shot with a lemon wedge. Serve chilled, enjoy responsibly!
Notes
- Use full-strength brewed tea for best flavor.
- Adjust sugar amount based on sweetness preference.
- For a stronger kick, increase whiskey amount slightly, but beware it may affect gelatin setting.
- Mini mason jars are great for portion control and presentation, but any small container will work.
- Make sure gelatin is fully dissolved to avoid grainy texture.
- Keep refrigerated until serving to maintain firmness.
