Description

Sweet Tea Jello Shots combine the classic refreshing taste of sweet tea with a boozy twist of whiskey in a fun and easy-to-make gelatin treat. Perfect for parties and gatherings, these jello shots offer a smooth blend of tea, sugar, and whiskey with a firm yet jiggly texture.

Ingredients

Scale

Sweet Tea Base

  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 3 tea bags
  • 1 cup sugar

Gelatin & Alcohol

  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup whiskey

Instructions

  1. Steep the Tea: Boil 4 cups of water and pour it into a heatproof pitcher. Add 3 tea bags and 1 cup sugar to the boiling water. Stir well to dissolve the sugar. Let the tea steep and cool for 20 minutes, then remove the tea bags.
  2. Prepare Gelatin Mixture: Sprinkle 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin over the warm tea to let it bloom for 15 minutes until fully dissolved. Stir thoroughly to ensure even mixing. Then add 1/2 cup whiskey to the mixture and stir until fully combined.
  3. Fill and Set: Place mini mason shot glasses on a tray or cookie sheet for stability. Pour the gelatin and tea mixture evenly into each shot glass. Refrigerate the shots for at least 3 hours until firm and set.
  4. Serve: Garnish each jello shot with a lemon wedge. Serve chilled, enjoy responsibly!

Notes

  • Use full-strength brewed tea for best flavor.
  • Adjust sugar amount based on sweetness preference.
  • For a stronger kick, increase whiskey amount slightly, but beware it may affect gelatin setting.
  • Mini mason jars are great for portion control and presentation, but any small container will work.
  • Make sure gelatin is fully dissolved to avoid grainy texture.
  • Keep refrigerated until serving to maintain firmness.
