Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into slider-sized portions (about 2–3 inches square)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Maple Glaze
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Other Ingredients
- 1 lb thick-cut beef bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled or cut into slider-sized pieces
- 12 slider buns
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken: Cut chicken breasts into slider-sized portions. In a bowl, toss chicken with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper to evenly coat all pieces.
- Make Maple Glaze: In a saucepan, combine maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and red pepper flakes if using. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat and cook for 5-7 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly.
- Cook Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken portions for about 4-6 minutes on each side until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Brush the chicken generously with the maple glaze during the final minutes of cooking for a flavorful coating.
- Cook Beef Bacon: Cook the thick-cut beef bacon in a separate pan until crispy. Drain off excess fat, then crumble or cut the bacon into slider-sized pieces.
- Toast Buns: Lightly butter the slider buns and toast them in a clean skillet over medium-low heat until golden brown and lightly crispy. This adds texture and prevents sogginess.
- Assemble & Serve Sliders: Place each cooked chicken portion on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Top with a portion of crispy beef bacon pieces, then cover with the toasted top bun. Serve the sliders immediately while warm and juicy.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is fully cooked to 165°F (74°C) for safety.
- Adjust red pepper flakes in the glaze to control heat level.
- For easier assembly, keep the bacon crispy and avoid adding extra sauce to prevent soggy buns.
- Slider buns can be substituted with mini brioche buns for a richer flavor.
- Leftover sliders can be refrigerated and reheated in an oven or skillet for best texture.
