Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Roll Dough
- 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
Sausage & Eggs
- 4 breakfast sausage links, cooked and cut in half
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
- Scramble the Eggs: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together until well combined. Pour the mixture into the skillet and gently scramble the eggs until they are just set but still moist. Remove from heat.
- Prepare Crescent Dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles along the perforations.
- Assemble Roll-Ups: On the wide end of each dough triangle, place a spoonful of the scrambled eggs, half of a cooked sausage link, and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Roll and Arrange: Starting at the wide end, roll up each triangle toward the pointed end, ensuring the filling stays inside. Place each roll-up seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet to keep them sealed while baking.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm, optionally with dipping sauces such as ketchup, salsa, or hot sauce for added flavor.
Notes
- You can substitute the cheddar cheese with your favorite cheese, such as mozzarella or pepper jack.
- Cook the sausage links thoroughly before assembling the roll-ups to ensure food safety.
- For a vegetarian version, replace sausage links with sautéed mushrooms or plant-based sausage alternatives.
- These roll-ups can be made ahead and reheated in the oven or microwave for a quick breakfast later.
- Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Adjust seasoning to your preference by adding herbs or spices like paprika or chives to the eggs.
