Ingredients
Scale
Fruit
- 4 cups fresh pineapple chunks
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries
- Juice of 1 lime (about 2–3 tablespoons)
Liquid & Sweetener
- 2 1/2 cups water, divided
- 2 tablespoons agave nectar
Instructions
- Blend the Fruits: In a blender, combine the fresh pineapple chunks, strawberries, 1 cup of water, agave nectar, and lime juice. Blend until the mixture is completely pureed, ensuring no large fruit chunks remain. Pause occasionally to scrape down the sides for an even blend.
- Strain the Mixture: Pour the blended fruit mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher or bowl. Use the back of a spoon or spatula to gently press and extract as much juice as possible, leaving behind the pulp for a smooth, refreshing drink.
- Dilute and Chill: Stir the remaining 1 1/2 cups of water into the strained juice in the pitcher. Mix well to combine. Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator or serve immediately over ice for best refreshment.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of agave nectar or substituting with honey or a sweetener of your choice.
- For a thinner consistency, add more water to your preference.
- Use ripe, fresh fruits for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
- The leftover pulp can be composted or added to smoothies for fiber.
- Serve chilled and consume within 2 days for optimal freshness.
