Ingredients
Scale
Sliders Base
- 1 package Kings Hawaiian Rolls
Filling
- 12 cooked cocktail meatballs
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4-1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (divided)
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
Butter Garlic Spread
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s ready for toasting and baking the sliders.
- Prepare Rolls: Cut small circles into the center of each Hawaiian roll’s top, creating a larger indentation to hold the fillings securely.
- Toast Rolls: Mix the butter with Italian seasoning to make a garlic butter spread, then brush it generously onto the rolls. Toast them in the oven for about 4 minutes until lightly golden.
- Add Sauce and Cheese: Spoon tomato sauce inside each rolled indentation and sprinkle with a portion of mozzarella cheese.
- Assemble Meatballs: Place one warmed cocktail meatball on top of the sauce and mozzarella in each roll. Sprinkle parmesan cheese evenly over the meatballs and then add the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake Sliders: Return the assembled sliders to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
- Serve: Remove from oven, let the sliders cool slightly to set, then serve warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Use pre-cooked meatballs to reduce preparation time significantly.
- If desired, add a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes inside for a spicy kick.
- Substitute mozzarella with provolone or fontina for a different cheese profile.
- Brush the rolls with melted butter mixed with garlic powder if Italian seasoning is unavailable.
- These sliders can be prepared ahead by assembling and refrigerating them before the final bake.
