Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon minced onion
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Slider Assembly
- Pickles (quantity to taste)
- 6 slices American or cheddar cheese
- 12 slider buns
Topping Glaze
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat and brown beef: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef thoroughly until no longer pink, breaking the meat into tiny pieces while cooking. Drain off any excess fat.
- Simmer with seasonings: Add the minced onion, water, beef bouillon cube, cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce to the browned beef. Simmer the mixture until the liquid has completely evaporated, allowing the flavors to concentrate.
- Assemble sliders: Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in a baking dish. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the buns. Layer pickles on top of the beef, then add a slice of cheese on each. Cover with the top halves of the slider buns.
- Prepare and apply glaze: In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard until fully combined. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns to create a flavorful glaze.
- Bake to finish: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the sliders are heated through. Remove foil for the last few minutes if you want a slightly crispier top.
Notes
- Pickles can be sliced dill or sweet, depending on your preference.
- For a tangier slider, increase the Dijon mustard in the glaze.
- If you prefer, substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef for a lighter option.
- Slider buns can be lightly toasted before assembling for added texture.
- Serve immediately after baking for the best taste and texture.
