Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Italian Pulled Pork Sandwich featuring savory pulled pork, deli ham, tangy giardiniera, and melted provolone cheese on crispy ciabatta rolls. Perfect for a quick lunch or casual dinner with bold Italian flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Meats

  • 16 oz deli ham
  • 2 cups pulled pork

Produce

  • 16 ounces jarred giardiniera (drained and chopped)

Dairy

  • 8 ounces sliced provolone cheese

Bakery

  • 4 ciabatta rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400º F to ensure it’s hot and ready for toasting the sandwiches.
  2. Prepare the Giardiniera: Drain the jarred giardiniera of excess liquid and chop it slightly to make it easier to layer inside the sandwiches.
  3. Assemble the Sandwiches: Slice the ciabatta rolls open horizontally. On the bottom halves, evenly spread about ½ cup of pulled pork per sandwich. Layer deli ham over the pork, then distribute the chopped giardiniera evenly over the ham. Finally, spread slices of provolone cheese on top of the giardiniera.
  4. Toast in the Oven: Place the assembled bottom halves with toppings and the open top halves of the rolls onto a baking sheet. Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 7 to 10 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and the provolone is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve: Remove sandwiches from the oven, place the top halves on each sandwich, then serve immediately while warm and gooey.

Notes

  • Feel free to add a bit of mayonnaise or mustard for extra flavor before assembling if desired.
  • You can use leftover pulled pork or freshly prepared pulled pork for this recipe.
  • Adjust the amount of giardiniera according to your preferred level of tanginess and spice.
  • For a crispier sandwich, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end, watching carefully to avoid burning.
