Description

These Healthy Popcorn Balls are a delicious and guilt-free treat made with natural ingredients like peanut butter, honey, and dark chocolate. Perfectly sweet and crunchy, they’re easy to make and ideal for snacking or sharing with friends and family.

Ingredients

Scale

Popcorn Mixture

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey (more if necessary)
  • 4 cups popped popcorn

Chocolate Topping

  • 3 ounces dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Heat the mixture: Heat the butter, peanut butter, and honey in a small saucepan over medium heat for one to two minutes until all ingredients are combined, stirring regularly to ensure a smooth blend.
  2. Combine with popcorn: Transfer the popped popcorn to a large bowl and pour the warm butter mixture over it. Use your hands to gently toss and make sure every popcorn kernel is fully coated with the mixture.
  3. Shape popcorn balls: Using your hands, form the coated popcorn into six evenly sized balls. Place the shaped balls on a cookie sheet or parchment paper to set.
  4. Melt the chocolate: Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave in short bursts, stirring between each until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate evenly over each popcorn ball.
  5. Refrigerate and serve: Place the popcorn balls in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to set the chocolate and firm up the shape. Once chilled, serve and enjoy your healthy snack.

Notes

  • For a nut-free version, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter or almond butter.
  • If the mixture is too sticky, add a little more honey or melted butter to help bind.
  • Use parchment paper on the cookie sheet to prevent sticking.
  • Store popcorn balls in an airtight container refrigerated for up to 3 days.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey based on your preference.
