Description

This Grilled Peaches recipe is a simple and delicious dessert perfect for warm weather. Juicy peaches are grilled to bring out their natural sweetness and paired with creamy vanilla bean ice cream, rich caramel sauce, and optional crunchy nuts for a delightful combination of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit

  • 4 ripe peaches (freestone peaches are best but any kind will work)

For Grilling

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (13 grams or olive oil spray)

Toppings

  • 16 ounces vanilla bean ice cream (454 grams)
  • ¼ cup caramel sauce (80 grams, heated)
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts (28 grams, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Peaches: Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits carefully to create two peach halves from each fruit.
  2. Oil the Peaches: Lightly brush or spray the inside of each peach half with olive oil to prevent sticking and enhance grilling.
  3. Grill the Peaches: Place the peaches cut side down on a medium to medium-high heat grill. Grill for approximately 5 minutes until the peaches are tender and warmed through without burning.
  4. Add Toppings: Remove peaches from the grill and top each half with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, a drizzle of hot caramel sauce, and a sprinkle of chopped nuts if desired.

Notes

  • Freestone peaches are easier to pit, but any ripe peaches will work.
  • If you don’t have a grill, a grill pan or broiler can be used as an alternative.
  • Ensure the grill is preheated to avoid sticking.
  • For a lighter version, use olive oil spray instead of brushing with olive oil.
  • The nuts add crunch and texture but can be omitted for a nut-free dessert.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the contrast between warm peaches and cold ice cream.
