Ingredients
Scale
Garlic Butter Steak Bites
- 1 ½ lbs steak (ribeye, sirloin, or tenderloin), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Cheesy Smashed Potatoes
- 1 ½ lbs baby potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- Fresh chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Potatoes: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the baby potatoes for 15-20 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork.
- Smash the Potatoes: Drain the cooked potatoes and place them on a lined baking sheet. Gently smash each potato with a fork to flatten slightly but keep them intact.
- Season the Potatoes: Drizzle olive oil and melted butter evenly over the smashed potatoes. Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste over them.
- Bake the Potatoes: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes turn crispy and golden brown.
- Add Cheese: Remove the potatoes from the oven, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over them, and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with fresh chives or parsley before serving.
- Season the Steak Bites: In a bowl, season the steak pieces with salt, black pepper, and paprika to ensure an even flavor.
- Sear the Steak: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until nicely browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Make Garlic Butter Sauce: Reduce the skillet heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic to the pan, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant without burning the garlic.
- Toss Steak in Sauce: Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce for an additional minute to coat and heat through.
- Serve: Garnish the garlic butter steak bites with freshly chopped parsley and serve alongside the cheesy smashed potatoes for a delicious, satisfying meal.
Notes
- Steak choice can be varied based on preference: ribeye, sirloin, or tenderloin all work well.
- For extra crispy potatoes, you can broil them for 2-3 minutes at the end instead of baking.
- Adjust seasoning to taste, especially salt and pepper, based on your steak and potatoes.
- Use fresh herbs like parsley or chives for garnish to brighten flavors and add a fresh finish.
- Leftover steak bites can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
