Description

This Frozen Margarita Pie is a delightful no-bake dessert that combines the tangy flavors of margarita mix with creamy cream cheese and fluffy whipped topping. Perfect for a refreshing treat, this pie requires minimal prep time and is frozen to set, making it an easy yet impressive dessert to enjoy during warmer months or festive occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Pie Crust

  • 1 10-inch graham cracker crust

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup frozen margarita mix, thawed (e.g., Bacardi Frozen Margarita Mix)
  • 16 oz whipped topping, thawed and divided
  • 1 shot tequila (optional)

Garnish

  • Lime zest for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cream Cheese: In a medium bowl, use a hand electric mixer to whip the cream cheese until it becomes smooth and creamy, ensuring there are no lumps.
  2. Add Margarita Mix: Pour in the thawed margarita mix and continue mixing until fully blended with the cream cheese, creating a smooth base.
  3. Incorporate Whipped Topping and Tequila: Add half of the thawed whipped topping along with the shot of tequila if using. Beat the mixture until everything is well incorporated and light.
  4. Fill Pie Shell: Pour the mixture into the prepared 10-inch graham cracker crust, smoothing the top evenly. Note that some of the mixture may remain unused.
  5. Freeze the Pie: Place the pie in the freezer for at least 4 hours or until firm. It can be frozen overnight for best results.
  6. Decorate and Garnish: Before serving, pipe or spread the leftover whipped topping on top of the frozen pie. Sprinkle with lime zest for a fresh, zesty finish if desired.

Notes

  • Using tequila is optional and adds an authentic margarita flavor; omit for a non-alcoholic version.
  • The pie needs to be frozen for at least four hours to set properly.
  • Leftover filling can be used as a topping for extra creaminess.
  • Allow the pie to sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before slicing for easier cutting.
  • This pie is perfect for summer parties or Cinco de Mayo celebrations.
