Description

These Easy Air Fryer Donuts are a quick and delicious treat made with jumbo biscuit dough, coated in a buttery cinnamon sugar mixture. Ready in just 15 minutes, they’re perfect for a homemade breakfast or snack without the mess of deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale

Donut Dough

  • 1 can Jumbo Biscuits (like Pillsbury Grands)

Coating

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 5 Tablespoons butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 360°F by turning it on to this temperature and letting it run for about 3-5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  2. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a medium bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set this mixture aside for coating the donuts later.
  3. Prepare Doughnuts: Open the can of jumbo biscuits and use a 1-inch round cookie cutter to cut out the centers of each biscuit to form donut shapes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with coconut oil or olive oil spray to prevent sticking (avoid non-stick sprays like Pam).
  4. Air Fry Donuts: Place the prepared donut rings (not the holes) into the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap. Bake at 360°F for 5 minutes.
  5. Butter and Coat: While the donuts bake, melt the butter. Once baked, use a silicone pastry brush to coat each donut generously with melted butter. Then dip and roll donuts in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat thoroughly, using a spoon to sprinkle over the top and gently shake off any excess.
  6. Serve: Serve the donuts hot for the best flavor and texture. Enjoy your quick and easy air-fried treats!

Notes

  • Do not use non-stick sprays like Pam as they can damage air fryer baskets.
  • You can also air fry the donut holes using the same method, adjusting cooking time slightly if needed.
  • For extra flavor, try adding a bit of nutmeg or vanilla to the cinnamon sugar mix.
  • Use fresh warm butter for better coating and flavor absorption.
  • Enjoy donuts immediately as they taste best warm and fresh.
