- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/3 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup water
For assembling:
- 8 corn tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add onion, garlic, spices, tomato sauce, and water. Simmer until thickened.
- Fry the tortillas: Heat oil in a skillet. Fry each tortilla briefly, then fill with beef mixture and cheese, fold, and fry until crispy.
- Serve: Top tacos with lettuce, tomato, cilantro, and sour cream.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
- Add jalapeños or hot sauce for extra heat.
- For a healthier option, bake the filled tacos at 425°F for 10-12 minutes instead of frying.
