Description

These Crispy Ground Beef Tacos are a delicious and satisfying meal that the whole family will love. The seasoned ground beef is stuffed into crispy fried corn tortillas and topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, cilantro, and sour cream.

  • 1 lb ground beef, 80/20 lean
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/3 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup water

For assembling:

  • 8 corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add onion, garlic, spices, tomato sauce, and water. Simmer until thickened.
  2. Fry the tortillas: Heat oil in a skillet. Fry each tortilla briefly, then fill with beef mixture and cheese, fold, and fry until crispy.
  3. Serve: Top tacos with lettuce, tomato, cilantro, and sour cream.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce for extra heat.
  • For a healthier option, bake the filled tacos at 425°F for 10-12 minutes instead of frying.
