Ingredients
Scale
Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Sauce:
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Garnish:
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for finishing the chicken in the ranch sauce.
- Season and Heat Oil: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Sear Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the hot skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until the outside is nicely browned. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Make Creamy Sauce: In the same skillet, add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, chicken broth, and ranch seasoning mix. Stir continuously over medium heat until the sauce becomes smooth and well combined.
- Coat Chicken: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy ranch sauce over each piece to coat well.
- Bake: Transfer the entire skillet to the preheated oven. Bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), ensuring it is cooked through and tender.
- Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the skillet from the oven. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the chicken for a fresh touch. Serve hot with your preferred side dishes.
Notes
- You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream to reduce calories.
- If you don’t have a skillet that is oven-safe, transfer the chicken and sauce to a baking dish before placing in the oven.
- Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure safe cooking.
- This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
