Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 6 cups bread crusts (enough to spread out over 2 baking trays), preferably stale
- 60 g / 2 oz / 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 5 tbsp sugar (separate 1 tbsp)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) to ensure it’s ready for baking your treats evenly.
- Prepare Bread Crusts: Cut bread crusts into approximately 3 cm (1.5 inch) pieces for uniform size and even baking.
- Coat with Butter: Place the bread crusts in a large bowl and drizzle the melted butter over them. Toss thoroughly to coat all pieces evenly with butter.
- Add Cinnamon Sugar: Sprinkle 4 tablespoons of sugar and the cinnamon over the coated bread crusts. Toss again until all pieces are well covered with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Arrange on Baking Trays: Spread the bread crusts evenly over two baking trays to ensure they bake evenly.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 5 to 8 minutes until the bread pieces are golden brown and crunchy. Keep an eye on the trays; the top tray will be ready slightly earlier than the bottom.
- Final Sugar Sprinkle: While the treats are still hot, sprinkle the remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar evenly over the two trays (about 1/2 tablespoon per tray) to add a sparkly finish mainly for appearance.
Notes
- Using stale bread crusts helps achieve better crispiness when baked.
- Keep a close watch during baking as sugar can burn easily at high temperatures.
- You can customize the sugar amount or cinnamon level according to your sweetness preference.
- Serve the treats warm for best texture and flavor.
