Ingredients
Scale
Beef and Seasoning
- 1 lb beef tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Bread and Toppings
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch slices (for crostini)
Garlic Parmesan Sauce
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Garnish
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Toast the Baguette Slices: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the baguette slices in a single layer on a baking sheet. Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper. Toast them in the oven for 8-10 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- Cook the Beef Tenderloin Cubes: Season the beef cubes with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes and cook them for 3-4 minutes on each side until they are nicely browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare the Garlic Parmesan Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and stir continuously as the mixture begins to simmer. Allow it to cook for 3-4 minutes to thicken slightly. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Assemble the Sandwiches: Arrange the toasted crostini slices on a serving platter. Top each slice with a cube of cooked beef tenderloin. Spoon a generous amount of the creamy Parmesan sauce over the beef.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley and optional fresh thyme leaves over the assembled crostini for added color and flavor. Serve immediately to enjoy at their best.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red chili flakes to the garlic butter sauce.
- Use day-old baguette for better toasting and crunch.
- Ensure the skillet is hot before adding beef to get a nice sear.
- This dish can be served as a hearty appetizer or a small plate for parties.
