Description

A hearty and delicious Breakfast Burger recipe featuring juicy beef and pork sausage patties, topped with melted cheese, a perfectly cooked fried egg, crispy bacon, fresh tomato, and lettuce, all sandwiched between toasted bagel halves. Perfect for a filling breakfast or brunch option.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Seasonings

  • 1 pound 80% lean ground beef
  • ½ pound pork breakfast sausage (bulk or casings removed)
  • 1½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Kosher salt (to taste)

Other Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (¼ stick)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 6 bagels (sliced in half)
  • 6 slices cheese
  • 12 slices cooked bacon
  • 6 slices tomato
  • 6 pieces lettuce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, pork sausage, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands until well blended.
  2. Form Patties: Divide the meat mixture evenly into 6 portions and shape each into a patty. Place the patties on a plate and season them with kosher salt to taste.
  3. Cook Patties: Heat a large skillet or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat. Add the butter and allow it to melt. Cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. Cook the Eggs: Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet. Crack the eggs directly into the skillet and cook them until done to your liking (sunny-side up, over easy, etc.).
  5. Assemble the Breakfast Burgers: Place each patty on the bottom half of a bagel. Top each patty with a slice of cheese and a cooked fried egg. Add two slices of cooked bacon, a slice of tomato, and a piece of lettuce on top. Place the bagel top to complete the sandwich and add any additional desired toppings.

Notes

  • Use a skillet or griddle that retains heat well to ensure even cooking of the patties and eggs.
  • For a healthier option, substitute pork sausage with turkey sausage.
  • Bagels can be toasted for added crunch and flavor.
  • Customize toppings to your preference such as avocado slices, pickles, or hot sauce.
  • Ensure eggs are cooked thoroughly if serving to children or those sensitive to undercooked eggs.
