Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasonings
- 1 pound 80% lean ground beef
- ½ pound pork breakfast sausage (bulk or casings removed)
- 1½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- Kosher salt (to taste)
Other Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (¼ stick)
- 6 large eggs
- 6 bagels (sliced in half)
- 6 slices cheese
- 12 slices cooked bacon
- 6 slices tomato
- 6 pieces lettuce
Instructions
- Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, pork sausage, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands until well blended.
- Form Patties: Divide the meat mixture evenly into 6 portions and shape each into a patty. Place the patties on a plate and season them with kosher salt to taste.
- Cook Patties: Heat a large skillet or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat. Add the butter and allow it to melt. Cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Cook the Eggs: Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet. Crack the eggs directly into the skillet and cook them until done to your liking (sunny-side up, over easy, etc.).
- Assemble the Breakfast Burgers: Place each patty on the bottom half of a bagel. Top each patty with a slice of cheese and a cooked fried egg. Add two slices of cooked bacon, a slice of tomato, and a piece of lettuce on top. Place the bagel top to complete the sandwich and add any additional desired toppings.
Notes
- Use a skillet or griddle that retains heat well to ensure even cooking of the patties and eggs.
- For a healthier option, substitute pork sausage with turkey sausage.
- Bagels can be toasted for added crunch and flavor.
- Customize toppings to your preference such as avocado slices, pickles, or hot sauce.
- Ensure eggs are cooked thoroughly if serving to children or those sensitive to undercooked eggs.
