Description

A quick and flavorful Bang Bang Shrimp recipe featuring tender shrimp coated in a spicy, creamy Bang Bang sauce, cooked on the stovetop for a perfectly seared finish. Ideal as an appetizer or main dish, garnished with fresh green onions and served with a side of extra sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp

  • 1 pound shrimp (26-30 count, peeled & deveined)

Sauce & Garnish

  • ½ cup Bang Bang Sauce (see separate recipe)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (sliced at an angle, divided)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Prepare skewers (optional): If using skewers, soak them in a shallow baking dish filled with water for 10 minutes to prevent burning during cooking.
  2. Reserve dipping sauce: Pour half of the Bang Bang sauce into a smaller bowl and set aside to serve as a dipping sauce.
  3. Skewer and coat shrimp: Thread 4-5 peeled and deveined shrimp onto each skewer and brush the remaining Bang Bang sauce over the shrimp evenly.
  4. Heat skillet: Warm a skillet or griddle over medium heat and drizzle 2 tablespoons of oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Cook shrimp: Place the shrimp in the hot skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn opaque and reach an internal temperature of 120°F. Adjust cooking time if shrimp size varies.
  6. Finish and garnish: Transfer the cooked shrimp to a serving dish, lightly brush with the reserved sauce, and garnish with extra chopped green onions.
  7. Serve: Serve immediately with the remaining dipping sauce on the side for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Soaking wooden skewers prevents them from burning during cooking.
  • The shrimp cooks quickly; watch closely to avoid overcooking.
  • You can serve Bang Bang Shrimp as an appetizer or over rice or salad for a meal.
  • Ensure shrimp is fully cooked to an internal temperature of 120°F for safety and optimal texture.
