Chicken Wings
- 2 to 3 pounds chicken wings
Marinade and Sauce
- 1 cup runny honey
- 2/3 cup chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes or hot sauce (optional for more heat)
Instructions
- Prep: Place the chicken wings in a large plastic zipping bag and set aside. In a separate bowl, combine honey, chili sauce, dried onion powder, dried garlic powder, mustard, Worcestershire sauce (or soy sauce), and red pepper flakes or hot sauce if using. Pour half of this marinade over the wings in the bag, seal tightly, and massage the bag to evenly coat all wings. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to overnight to allow flavors to infuse. Reserve the remaining marinade in the fridge for basting later.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Remove the wings from the marinade bag and discard any leftover marinade in the bag. Arrange the wings in a lightly greased 13×9 inch baking pan in a single layer. Bake uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes, basting the wings with the reserved marinade every 10 to 15 minutes to build a glossy, flavorful coating. Wings are done when they are golden brown and the juices run clear when pierced with a fork or knife.
- Broil (Optional): For an extra crispy finish, place the wings under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning. Remove and serve immediately for best taste and texture.
