Description

Crispy and flavorful Baked Garlic Parmesan Fries made with thinly sliced russet potatoes tossed in olive oil, garlic, spices, and topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and parsley. A perfect healthier alternative to deep-fried fries, baked to golden perfection in the oven.

Ingredients

Scale

Potatoes

  • 4 large russet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into thin fries

Seasonings & Toppings

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • â…“ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Arrange Fries: Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not overcrowded to allow proper air circulation for crispiness.
  4. Bake Fries: Bake the fries for 30 to 35 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning and crispness on all sides.
  5. Add Parmesan: Once golden and crispy, remove the fries from the oven and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over them while they are still hot, allowing the cheese to melt and adhere.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Toss the fries gently to coat with the cheese and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes prior to baking to remove excess starch, then dry thoroughly before seasoning.
  • Using freshly grated Parmesan cheese provides better melting and coating compared to pre-shredded cheese.
  • Ensure fries are spread out in a single layer and not overcrowded to avoid soggy fries.
